Social Media Predictions - September 2020

It's a brand new month, the kiddos are back to school after the longest summer of all time and I have that new term, new start feeling giving me all the excitement for the month ahead.

So, with that in mind, here are my social media predictions for the next few months.

Have a read through, and think about how you can use them in your business to really blow up this Autumn!

Reels are exploding.

I know, I know, you aren't keen on doing awkward pointy dance moves and grinning emphatically at the camera, but there are loads of ways you can use them creatively to show off what you do.

If you've noticed that your insta has been a little quieter than usual the last couple of weeks, It's because the algorithm has been prioritising Reels posts, so jump on it now whilst it's still new and fresh to reap all that new trend engagement goodness.

TikTok isn't dead... yet.

Whilst the news is full of stories about governments shutting down this lockdown phenomenon, it continues to grow, with a primarily young demographic, but a growing millenial following.

Do think about how you can use it to grow your business. Could you do a tutorial, give some tips and advice, or jump on one of the trending challenges. It's a great way to show your more human side and videos don't need to be polished and high spec, the more 'real' the better.

LinkedIn is having a bit of a moment and it's worth jumping in now to ride the wave.

A lot of LinkedIn users are starting to treat it more like Facebook, posting regular updates to keep their network in the loop and share thought leadership.

It's not the stuffy networking platform it once was and is loosening it's tie a little.

Share articles, popular posts from your other platforms, and opinions on your industry, and don't forget to use hashtags, but not too many. Three is just right.

Facebook is having a full blown identity crisis and is soooooo not the platform for organic reach...

…but Facebook ads still reign supreme and groups are still a brilliant way for building a community.

Put your energy into growth in groups rather than your page, you'll build rapport with your audience way more successfully.

What do you think? Do you have any predictions for the next few months?
